Nyomi Barrick-Wommack is the Education and Outreach Manager for the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA). Before joining OMMA in March of 2022, Barrick-Wommack served as an education specialist and cultivation intern in the Oklahoma cannabis industry. Her work has earned her a NextGen Under 30 award for policy and public service. As a Master’s student in the Medical Cannabis and Therapeutics program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, she’s conducted extensive research bolstering her knowledge. Her passion for education led her to the Cannabis Regulators Association (CANNRA), where she is part of the Public Education, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Subcommittee. Prior to her professional journey, Barrick-Wommack attended Oklahoma State University (OSU), where she worked as a research assistant, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Plant and Soil Sciences.
Nyomi has a unique interest in the agronomy of cannabis and hopes to research agronomic practices and their role in the development of cannabis compounds that are sought out for their therapeutic use.
