My deep-rooted interest in understanding and serving people is what initially drew me to the health sciences, fueled by a palpable desire to help people reach their optimal wellness and highest potential for quality of life.
In the years following my graduation, I witnessed my beloved mother’s good health quickly decline at the hand of a mysterious and brutal Auto-Immune Disease and I became increasingly involved in her ongoing medical and psychiatric care.
It was during this difficult decade of my young adulthood that I developed a progressive interest in more integrative, whole-person approaches to scientific and psychiatric medicine, as well as a personal passion for diagnosis & treatment therapies. It is my firm belief that this must include the critical and often overlooked “soft skills” of health education, patient empowerment and advocacy, caregiver support, and overall quality patient and family-system centered care.
A wise fellow Philadelphian once said “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” I say let’s be wizards of the “oz.”
I have also spent the last 16 years running my own business as a special events photographer and have a ton of experience in branding, marketing, and business management – not to mention some sick photography and photo editing skills!
